LED is a light-emitting diode, which is mainly composed of five materials: bracket, silver glue, wafer, gold wire and epoxy resin, which can convert electrical energy into light energy .
The heart of the LED is a semiconductor chip. One end of the chip is attached to a bracket, one end is a negative electrode, and the other end is connected to the positive electrode of the power supply. The entire chip is encapsulated with epoxy resin.
The semiconductor chip consists of two parts : P-type semiconductor and N-type semiconductor . When the two semiconductor connected,theywill form a PN junction. When electric current acts on the chip through the wire, the electrons will be pushed to the P region, where the electrons recombine with holes, and then emit energy in the form of photons. This is the principle of LED light emission.
Compared with traditional light sources, LED have many advantages.
1. Small size
The LED is a very small chip , encapsulated in epoxy resin , so it is small in size , light in weight , and easy to transport.
2. Energy saving
LED power consumption is very low , and the electro-optical power conversion is close to 30%. The energy consumption of LED lamps is only 1/10 of incandescent lamps and 1/4 of energy-saving lamps.
3. Long life
LED light source is known as longevity lamp. The advanced LED technologies ensure its long life. LED lamps’life is more than 50 times than traditional tungsten filament lamps .
4. No flicker
The LED light has no flicker and will not cause visual fatigue.
5. Green and environmental protection
LED is made of non-toxic material, do not containpollution elements such as Lead, mercury. There are no ultraviolet and infrared rays in the spectrum, neither heat nor radiation, and little glare.
The assembled parts of the LED bulb are also easy to dismantle, which facilitates recycling.
6. Rugged and durable
The LED is completely encapsulated in epoxy resin, which is not easily damaged.
7. Wide range of application
LED lamps are suitable for a wide voltage range and are used worldwide. Its life and brightness are not affected by voltage fluctuations.
8. Standard lamp holder
The LED lamps use a universal standard lamp base, we can directly replace the existing halogen lamp, incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp.
9 . Advanced Technology
Compared with the monotonous lighting effect of traditional light sources, LED light sources are low-voltage microelectronic products. It successfully integrates computer technology, network communication technology, image processing technology, embedded control technology, etc. It has the characteristics of online programming, unlimited upgrades, and flexibility.
At present, LED has been widely used in the field of lighting. Compared with traditional bulbs, the advantages of LED lamps are obvious.Led also makes contribution to environmental protection.
